Love Me Like This Is Our Last
Throw me onto the bed,
like between the covers holds a valley
where dinosaurs still breathe.
Where baby triceratops breed between our birthmarks,
shaped like great pyramids,
and the big dipper,
and the other six dozen world wonders I've found on your body.
Where I can ride long necks,
whose spines remind me of ivory and ebony keys,
vertebrae painted in black and white and varying shades of bruise
as my fingers run their length.
Press your lips to me,
like you're a junkie looking for that one last fix
before the cops close in.
Like I've got your need on my cheekbones,
and the curves of my ankles,
and the tender skin of my inne

I Forgot To Say
When you left yesterday,
I forgot to say,
Three simple words:
I love you.
I hid behind,
A shadow's cover,
Because I was afraid,
To let you see I cried.
And if I had nothing left to lose,
I wish I had chased after you.
We'd touch the stars,
Blend our hearts,
Yet you belonged,
To another one.
Candles shine so bright,
In the darkest of nights,
If they could only guide you back,
Into my sight.
And I always try to fall asleep,
Because I get to see you in my dreams.
If only I'd only had
The courage to tell you,
You might still be here,
In love with me too.

I Wish That I Could Hold You
I see the fear on your face,
I'd give anything...
To take you away from that place
I see the tears as they fall...
But my voice is,
All I have,
All I can give,
When you hurt so bad...
I wish that I could hold you,
Every time that you cry
I wish that I could look,
Deep into your eyes
I wish that I could touch you,
And take all the pain away
I wish I could be by your side,
And there, always stay...
I see so many things,
As they flash through your mind...
Our thoughts are joined together,
So all your emotions are mine...
But my voice is,
All I have,
All I can give,
When you hurt so bad...
I wish that I could hold you,

I was glancing through 's gallery and the title of THIS--
One by one, it goes away. Beyond the music that I play, I find the silence that I seek That perfect solace that leaves me weak I fall into myself, the perfect dreams Dreaming rainbows of any hue I'm free from you, it seems But yet, I'm wondering why I'm now so blue As the little cranes gather up, letting go isn't so tough. One by one, it goes away. Soon I'll escape these chains, and fly away Folding paper here and there School, home, anywhere To me, it doesn't matter anymore My heart no longer feels so sore With everyone tha

Six words can easily be used to make a statement. To become a story, we need some form of action or progression. While the proposal itself satisfies this criteria, it isn't a very interesting story. Some events in themselves make an interesting story (alien invasion, dinosaur rampage, etc) but the more personal stories like this thrive on the details. What makes this proposal special, why is it worth writing a story about?
That's where the origami ring comes in. "An origami ring?" I ask. "Why would anybody propose with an origami ring? Who is this person, what circumstances arose to make him choose an origami ring?" And so on.
The best six-word stories give us a basis on which to build a more detailed story. By sparking the reader's imagination, the reader then fills in those details and it becomes an experience entirely personal to them. Piquing that interest in the first place is far from easy, though. Here, you do so brilliantly with those two words: "origami ring". It's such a strange concept that I defy any reader to not instantly be intrigued.
I like the fact that you've used a different font here; it's cool but ultimately has no bearing on my opinion of the story, which I absolutely love and would love if it were written in Arial Narrow.
