Six words can easily be used to make a statement. To become a story, we need some form of action or progression. While the proposal itself satisfies this criteria, it isn't a very interesting story. Some events in themselves make an interesting story (alien invasion, dinosaur rampage, etc) but the more personal stories like this thrive on the details. What makes this proposal special, why is it worth writing a story about?

That's where the origami ring comes in. "An origami ring?" I ask. "Why would anybody propose with an origami ring? Who is this person, what circumstances arose to make him choose an origami ring?" And so on.

The best six-word stories give us a basis on which to build a more detailed story. By sparking the reader's imagination, the reader then fills in those details and it becomes an experience entirely personal to them. Piquing that interest in the first place is far from easy, though. Here, you do so brilliantly with those two words: "origami ring". It's such a strange concept that I defy any reader to not instantly be intrigued.

I like the fact that you've used a different font here; it's cool but ultimately has no bearing on my opinion of the story, which I absolutely love and would love if it were written in Arial Narrow.
