a.
you tie the stars in ribbon trails
and examine the options,
each dot a resting place.

a haven i can't reach.

i wonder,
as i read the imprints on your lips
(the moondust sparkles most
when you tilt your head to the right
and twinkle your eyes)
:
do you really miss me,
or was i just another name of impossibles
you strove to drive away?

our auras glow through pink-tinged clouds
and i wonder idly:
do you really love me,
or am i just a dream you think will paint you perfect?

b.
you loop daisies 'round your pinky
and swear you'll never forget,
muted fantasies stealing your smile
in a world i've never visited.

i question,
as i read the gloss across your palms
(pollen always has a knack
for staining life-lines and fortunes
and turning your alibis beautiful)
:
did you really mean forever,
or just until something better came along?

you blow petals against my eyes
and i question silently:
do you really want who i am,
or are my blooms much too harsh for your caress?

c.
you sketch shapes across my shoulders
and breathe "iloveyou" fragments into life,
each syllable pronounced
as if you've never been more honest.

and i ask myself,
as i gaze across the chasm to your eyes
(because there's distance between us
and the bridge burned long ago.
you set the wood aflame)
:
is this the life you dream of,
or are we plucking thorns with no way to stop the tears?

and the clouds part overhead
as you snag my wrist and lock my feet to yours,
and i ask myself:
do you truly care,
or am i just another trophy girl
cased in glass and hung in your gallery?

do you even notice me
when i'm around,
or do you only miss me when it rains?
I like this one better methinks.

I love the last sentence. Great work, yet again.
