Many months have come and gone,
and yet my garden grows.
Forever has this field been mine,
the Lady of the Blackened Rose.
For an eternity have they been blooming;
they awaken with the moon.
Happiness and peace cause them to wilt;
despair is their chosen tune.
I've watched them die in summer sun;
they return to greet the snow.
The frost has never touched their roots,
yet the spring they'll never know.
They enjoy the sound of screaming,
and they love causing me pain.
But if I were to leave the world,
they would be free from my dark stain.
You look me wrongly in the eye,
and you owe them your soul.
One evil slippage of your pink tongue,
and they quickly steal control.
You think to laugh behind my back,
and your life lies in their hands.
Shall you ever raise your hand to me,
death will cover their demands.
They'll lure you in with their false charms,
and enslave you to my will.
You will forever feel your guilt,
for that is their one skill.
They're smarter than you think they are;
they see everything and more.
You can't escape their prying eyes;
the future shows them what's in store.
The world may crumble down on us,
but until I die, they breathe.
I've become entrapped in my own field;
the roses will not let me leave.
I wander lonely through the grass,
and yet I'm so loved, I could cry.
I know I can't escape this life;
my name is etched in the grey sky.
The clouds grow thick and threatening;
I've let them feel my fear.
They rush to comfort and to aid;
they long to keep me here.
I've always known that I'd be trapped;
the world outside no longer shows.
And here, within this dream, I'm caught...
the Lady of the Blackened Rose.
