I wish... by blue-a  the world turns slowly and i step with itthe world keeps turning
even when i stand still;
i found secrets hidden in dark places
and i wonder why i never
looked for them before,
never studied the reasoning behind
hiding them in the first place.
(or maybe i might have,
maybe i wanted to forget, try to forget,
try to be forgiven --)
the world keeps turning
and the night turns to day even when i have
passed hours sleepless in the confines
of a restless mind; i wonder where
the time goes as it drags me through
forever, i wonder how long ago
i should have found myself and wonder if,
somehow,
i've fallen behind.
i've tried to love three times
and every time it ends in broken-
hearted babbling
(not for me, you see, but them --)
and every time i feel a twinge
of sorrow
and regret
and i fear that this part of me
may be something broken.
the world keeps turning
and the fan on the nightstand keeps spinning,
gives me chills that warm
my frozen heart.
i'm terrified, i've found,
of getting close to the people that could
hurt me the most; i

tangling antlers with oak branches to find br-ea-k
in all this armour, everyone tells me i look good
for someone biting the plum flesh of full-moon
nights, grinding teeth on the rinds of soured
yesterdays;
no-one should repeat my mistakes.
i am a haunted new showroom home,
no-one seems to suspect that there are cracks
under all this smile, under all this laugh, under
all this light. my scars fibre-webbed, opal,
moonstone, the weight i carry masquerades as feathers,
the slow pull of bones from sockets, feet from
ocean floors hides in glass-cracked puddles,
i am a shipwreck disintergrating in plain sight.

Enchanted Forest by TacoSauceNinja  Lacrimosa She breaks harp strings
She tells me, in a hour
Or less
She has a backbone
Stronger than anything
I've ever seen
She breaks harp strings
She tells me, with delicate fingers
And violent heart
Loved by a ribcage
More fragile than
Her fluttering start
She is orchideliruim
She is lemon vodka, peppermint tea
Cold champagne spiked with
Paradise,
Like the things she used to make for me
She writes nocturnes in her sleep
And she cuts
But she can't let them see
She's a butterfly
Breaking at the wings
She is gilt and guilt and
Gold-tone trills, brilliant
She tells me she breaks harp strings
And we'll play the piano one day
I talk to her late at night
And miss her my whole life long
She shines like the delicate moon
Over spider-silk rewoven

Gaze by avvart  Summer LovePeople speak of
summer love
like it’s worth more than love in winter
like it crunches beneath fall branches
and escapes spring’s fleeting hold.
They revere it
like it lasts longer
than the time it takes for summer
to appear, flash once and filter
out; like summer stays so long.

DFC Day 16--Feature

WILD UNICORN!

DFC #16 - Approaching ChristmasApproaching Christmas
16-12-15
As we approach this time of year
When everybody’s full of cheer,
I think of you, wishing you here;
But you can’t be here you are gone.
Throughout this time of joy and peace
When joy and laughter never cease,
I think of you, my boy deceased;
‘Cos from you I cannot move on.
When children squeal and unwrap toys,
That are bringing laughter and joy
To little girls and little boys;
Once you were that – my little one.

As we approach this time of year
When everybody’s full of cheer,
I think of you, wishing you here;
But you can’t be here you are gone.

Tom Odell is so hot. Full stop.
-Yikes. Bring in thought police, cop.
-All his tears have been used on (swap
self whoever) another love.

Pay the fine give them the money
Skip out, jail cells ain't that sunny
They'll bust your face up, nose runny
But that's the thing about the cops

Dec 16th - Susurrus PulseEvery heartbeat holds a secret
Hush and try your best to keep it
Do not speak, you might just regret
To hear your heart on strangers' tongues.

Every heartbeat holds a secret
Hush and try your best to keep it
Do not speak, you might just regret
To hear your heart on strangers' tongues.

OrchestrationsWhat never-ending song is this
in which the rhythm goes amiss
while harmony barely exists?
Such cacophony must not be.
But who can silence such a song?
To burn the theatre would be wrong,
as the audience plays along.
Instead, perhaps I'll find the key.
The staccato hijacks my heart
when I listen truly for its art.
The next movement will bring my part;
my mad symphony of the free.

What never-ending song is this
in which the rhythm goes amiss
while harmony barely exists?
Such cacophony must not be.

A new book: such a lovely sight
Each new story is a delight
I am forever a book worm

DFC 2015 #16: Striving StridencyFlying airships between towers
Humble sign of humble powers,
Golden statues replace flowers,
All shadows feature silver light.
Obelisks have been erected,
Architecure's been perfected,
Hardly any flaw's detected,
A Moloch of unchallenged might.
Factories ornate the city
Expelled yellow clouds are pretty,
And the stream deserves no pity,
Meandering out of one's sight.
Tiny looking ships, huge bridges,
Pavement in the sky abridges
Distance between mountain ridges,
And no visible source of plight.
Utopian wish and vision,
Hard and everlasting mission,
Aim of undisturbed ambition,
Resulting in eternal fright.

Flying airships between towers
Humble sign of humble powers,
Golden statues replace flowers,
All shadows feature silver light.

The Elementalsposies grow from my fingertips
dirt and rock dominate my trip
so far away from the eclipse
earth element grounding the four
I give you that warm summer breeze
I blow the fall leaves from the trees
angry thunder or still, at ease
air element forevermore
my tears are raindrops falling free
ocean will only dance for me
my home will always be the sea
water element not folklore
I am the sun's blistering heat
warmer, warmer, warmer, repeat
balancing light is bittersweet
fire element mild uproar

dirt and rock dominate my trip
so far away from the eclipse
earth element grounding the four

DFC 2015 Day 16: Parting Is Such Sweet SorrowOh, do not wear a somber mien.
This future was not unforeseen.
The curtain falls on every scene.
It hurts my heart to hear you weep.
Let not my passing on depress
your laughter into bitterness,
but kiss me ere I must egress.
I do not die; I merely sleep.

Oh, do not wear a somber mien.
This future was not unforeseen.
The curtain falls on every scene.
It hurts my heart to hear you weep.

Congratulations, everyone, on a day well done!  This feature will be updated if/as more entries trickle in.

DFC Day 15--Feature

South East Asia

Swing Soft Like SinatraParticulate
Emotion, swing
Soft, we all sing
Like the Crooners.
Intellects play
Honeymooners,
Physics-pruners
'Till they grow old.
Starry upshot,
We caught the gold
Beacon but hold
It loosely still.
It takes a tough
Heart, iron will,
An urge to swill,
To learn to shove.
Clang like a bell
Each last bit of
Long-goner love,
How about it?

Particulate
Emotion, swing
Soft, we all sing
Like the Crooners.

DFC #15 - My Soul Finds YouMy Soul Finds You
15-12-15
My time is lost,
My chest is cold;
Oh what to do,
‘Cept to grow old
Within myself,
And without too;
Find neverland
And be with you.
My little boy,
My darling son;
I wish you peace
When the day’s done.
Cos at each morn
And at each night,
My soul finds you
And it takes flight.

My time is lost,
My chest is cold;
Oh what to do,
‘Cept to grow old

True Lies from the Jury PoolSummons received,
So must report,
To County Court -
As a juror.
Defendant looks
Like Der Führer!
Proved far purer;
Charges dismissed.
Next case is called -
Proctologist
Couldn't resist
Being an ass!
Told tasteless joke,
Truly quite crass!
He did harass;
Guilty as charged.
End of the day,
Jurors discharged -
Through doors we barged!
Service complete.

Summons received,
So must report,
To County Court -
As a juror.

Hope Bionic (DFC 2015)in seas of white
she blinks awake--
a blind mistake.
with shallow breaths
she wades the tide
and seeks the depths
of heartbeats left
to vein her eyes.
in empty space
her blue hope tries
to sweep the lies
from frozen skin.
an aching pulse
stutters, and then
she sleeps again--
fears burning bright.

she wades the tide
and seeks the depths
of heartbeats left
to vein her eyes.

To be a fly
Upon your wall
I would hear all
Talk about me

AbstentionThe train arrives.
Hot air blows down;
my hair's blown 'round
by manmade breeze.
Within those doors:
nothing to see,
places to be.
"Last call to board."
At that moment
I leave the horde,
and feel restored.
The train takes off.

The train arrives.
Hot air blows down;
my hair's blown 'round
by manmade breeze.

never regret

DFC 2015 #15: Tender ChangeBleaching shadows
In the distance,
No resistance
Whatsoever.
Gray horizons
Filled with feathers
Stop the weather's
Exhausted march.
Cotton clouds float
Over hued archs,
Underneath large,
Crescent hills grow.

Bleaching shadows
In the distance,
No resistance
Whatsoever.

One More Night DFC 2015May hope give you strength, love.
For I am your angel, above.
I came down, with truelove,
Kissing your lips, mourning dove,
Humming lyrics to our rhymes,
Of morning grunts and beats of time,
That will only last us love,
One more night, saying goodbye.

May hope give you strength, love.
For I am your angel, above.
I came down, with truelove,
Kissing your lips, mourning dove

Dec 15th - No Need For OrchestrationsA howling wolf
sits in my chest,
grants me neither
much sleep or rest.
It cries at night,
it yaps and growls.
Calls to the moon,
hear how it howls.
Fills me with sounds,
inflates my lungs,
yells to be heard.
A song unsung.
Rages in me
to the extreme.
And yet I am
too shy to scream.

A howling wolf
sits in my chest,
grants me neither
much sleep or rest.

DFC 2015 Day 15: PhantasmagoriaBird girl knows that
         she can fly.
She spreads her arms
         free and wide--
the surf down low,
         the sky up;
toes at cliff's edge,
         set to glide.
He takes her wrists,
         holds her back.
He speaks to her,
         a soft plea.
His words are wind
         on her back.
She steps. She falls
         in the sea.

Bird girl knows that
         she can fly.
She spreads her arms
         free and wide
