Welcome to the thirteenth article focusing on featuring and getting to know the deviants behind the work! This series will be posted every Wednesday. If you have a deviant you'd like to see included, please send betwixtthepages a note with the subject "Call to Conversation"--make sure to include the deviant's name as well as a reason you think they'd make a good interview subject! Also, feel free to send along a question or two you'd like to have answered by them!

This week's featured deviant is PoetryOD!

PoetryOD is an inspiring, beautiful deviant.  She lends her voice to all areas of the dA lit community, as well as branching out into the other communities from time to time, as well.  You might know her from her beautiful journal features, or from The Review Project she recently brought to dA.  PoetryOD is one of those deviants you can find helping others find their way around dA and giving her support to those in need.  With a beautiful gallery and a unique and inspiring voice, she is a deviant you should be watching and loving.

Hello !

So--you admin some awesome groups!  Tell us a little about each of them?

Well LitLoveCommunity is my literature group, it's still quite young but I run The Review Project through it which encourages people to write reviews of fellow deviants. Now I've gotten the hang of groups though I've come to realise that there are a lot of small groups and it might be better for small group owners to join forces. I'm thinking about whether I should offer my time to an existing group.

ProjectPositivity is my forever group <3 I will always love this group because I truly truly believe in this project. I started it many many years ago and have done this project in other sites but da is its home. The concept is simple, make an image with 10 positive things about yourself. The harder you find it the more you benefit from it - I think this is something every deviant should do at least once!

I also help out at CRCommunityProjects helping people who are trying to set up new projects to get the tools and advice they need or put them in touch with people who can help them out. It's a great group and I've always loved the da community so it's an honour to be involved there although my time is sadly scarce lately.

You do a bunch of stuff around dA--what are some of the things we can find you doing?
The review project of course, haha, I like to do features, think up ways to get the literature community interacting. I like sharing thoughts and ideas, seein' what happens. I suggest a lot of DDs.. Mostly when I'm here I'm just trying to make friends and share my work though. I don't have as much time as I used to so I am a little involved in a lotta great things.

You do a couple of consistent features in your journal--what are Communal Karma and je ne sais quoi?
Communal Karma is a feature of all the people who have suggested literature DDs in the previous month. I'm not always on time with this though because compiling the features and the quotes to give people a taster of each person takes a whole day of hard work!

Je ne sais quoi is a feature I do of mainly fashion, editorial, couturish striking images. I love the fashion industry especially innovation so I love to share that passion. :)

Which do you like writing more--poetry or prose?  Why?
Poetry! Poetry is prose without rules. It has everything you love about prose without the rigidity. You can self impose rules like write in a certain form etc but you don't have to. You can't get it wrong, and that's why I love it!

If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, what would you choose and why?
I think I'd have to have the complete works of William Shakespeare and that's because everytime I read one of his plays or sonnets I find something new. Shakespeare is a gift that keeps on giving, you get rewarded for being a loyal customer almost. It's just freakin delightful to experience.

Are there any characters (from a book or a movie) that you feel a sense of connection with?
Susanna Kaysen. Although I think that character (from girl interrupted) was based on the authors true experiences so im not sure if it counts?

When you have free time, what can you be found doing?
I don't have free time haha. I procrastinate a lot but I always should be doing something. It's terrible! But when I want to do something fun ill play on my NES with my friends, tackle hug my dogs or reply to my DA inbox before it devours me.

What's your favorite genre to read? (i.e. Romance, Sci Fi, Fantasy...)
I don't really have a favourite genre, I read lots of different stuff. Not a fan of much horror, though. Generally I like books that have believable relatable and flawed characters. Preferably a little crazy.

If you could, for one day, pair up deviants for collaborative work, who would you choose to pair up and why? (you don't have to stick to just one pairing)
I'd like to see the literary love child of you and konjuku. I'd also like to see ladylincoln and leoraigarath collaborate because individually they are just crazy balls of amazing and if they got together I think it would supernova something epic. And I think finally Id like to see myself collaborate with an animator to make a YouTube video for one of my poems. That would be wicked.

Cake or pie?!
Cheesecake

If you could say anything to a deviant just starting out, what would it be?
Make friends and you get what you put in. I see a lot of people leave because they don't get the interest they think they deserve. If you want people to notice you, it's your responsibility no one else's. if you are an artist then you have to brand yourself and it takes constant interaction with your peers and commitment to it to start to get seen. If your talented and you just talk to people you'll not only start to be seen but you meet incredible and talented people who become real friends.

Whats your current favorite song? Movie? Book?
Song: goodnight moon by go radio
Movie: I watched life of pi last night and liked it but preferred the book. If I had to choose only one film to watch forever it would probably be moulin rouge because it has everything !
Book: still The Glimpse by Claire Merle. I think it's for a younger audience than me but it hit me so hard and I couldn't help but think what if this was huge like twilight amongst kids. What kind of a difference would that make to society. Wow.

Pick three pieces from your favorites (by other deviants) and link us to them. Why do you like them?

One of the most important images I ever saw on deviant Art was called Scar's scars by pelicanh but sadly it's been removed now. If people have a moment (it's nsfw and possible trigger) then they should look at it via google because it is strongly reflected in poems like Stitches.

I have to mention this one: Balance

Balance is my favourite image on deviant art I think. It has been, In my mind, the visual representation of how I see myself for years. I find it very sad but beautiful and if I could have anything from dA in my house I'd have this on a big canvas in my bedroom.

Finally In Balance (names are coincidentally similar) has had a profound affect on me; it was the mental image of the poem Mutant and therefore is very strongly in my heart.

Thanks for having me :D!!
