Welcome to the 24th article focusing on featuring and getting to know the deviants behind the work! This series will be posted every Wednesday. If you have a deviant you'd like to see included, please send =TwilightPoetess a note with the subject "Call to Conversation"--make sure to include the deviant's name as well as a reason you think they'd make a good interview subject! Also, feel free to send along a question or two you'd like to have answered by them!

This week's featured deviant is fervvent!

fervvent BLEEDS emotions into her writing, taking readers on a journey they might not always expect--but are bound to connect with.  She takes tough subjects full-force, tearing them--and her reader's ethical boundaries--down and rebuilding them to fit her message/subject.  fervvent is a force to be reckoned with--you should definitely have her on your watch list, if you don't already!

So--does your user name have a meaning? Mind sharing with us if so?
yes - it just seems to fit me a lot. the extra v is sort of a reference to my last username, hhesitate.
(volatile - adjective /ˈvälətl/ fluctuating; inconsistent; liable to rapid changes in emotion; tending toward sudden violence)

You write a lot of tough, edgy material--what's that like? (as in... is it any harder for you to write than abstract, subtle stuff? Is there ever a sense of "I'm not so sure I want to post this" before you hit submit? Stuff like that.)
haha can i just say i love the idea of me being edgy because if you met me in real life you probably wouldn't think so at all. but... i dunno, i sort of just go with whatever comes naturally. if anything seems too sensitive or vulgar before posting it i might add a mature tag, but otherwise i don't care for censoring and i don't really have a problem coming off the way i do.

Which piece in your gallery did you have the most fun writing? How about the least?
that's hard to choose... writing anything in general is fun to me. this poem was pretty amusing to write (that's the example i come up with because it was pretty recent). this poem was one of the least fun things to write because it is pretty personal / kind of painful to think about.

Are there any subjects (or genres) that you refuse to write? Why?
nah, not really! i tend to shy away from things that are silly/random/pointless seeming or anything too surface-y (without underlying meaning). otherwise i'll pretty much write about anything (even if i don't post it here)

If just one piece in your gallery could be handed out to every person in the world, which piece would it be and why did you pick it?
oh man... i have no idea. that is way too hard to choose especially considering most of my writing is not particularly positive or uplifting haha.

How long have you been writing? What about it first drew you in?
haha since grade school, but i haven't really been writing seriously since about... 6th grade, i think? i started with rpgs (role-playing games) because i was really into warriors when i was 12 hahaha and then i went from that to different kinds of animals and supernatural creatures, but finally found my way to deviantart and more "serious" writing after that. i just love creating characters and writing from their perspectives, as well as just making art with words, as cliche as that sounds.

What kinds of music do you listen to? Do you listen to music while you write?
oh, goodness. all sorts of stuff. mostly alternative/rock/trip hop/etc. i have a huge list of bands that i like here: -ache.tumblr.com/music ;
i sometimes listen to music while i write - not usually with poetry, because i write poetry on impulse most of the time, but i generally have music on while writing prose.

What are some of the things you like most about the dA Lit Community? Least?
i love how much feedback everyone gives and how there is always someone that you can go to to talk to on here. i've made a lot of friends through it.
that being said, i hate how catty everyone gets on here. it is frustrating because some people gain favourites/comments/watchers because they are likable as a person where as those who maybe aren't that personable or outwardly friendly are pointedly ignored, regardless of how good their writing is. also, everyone follows the same trends which is all good and fine but sometimes they're not even used properly/effectively.

If you could sit down with a published writer for an afternoon, who would you pick and what would you talk about?
if he was still alive, charles bukowski, definitely. i'd just want to know how he gains inspiration to write/how he got published/etc etc and just things about him/his life haha.

If you could give advice (about literature) to a writer/poet just starting out, what would you say?
avoid end rhymes and cliches at all costs until you can do it tastefully and de-clichify the phrases/words/ideas you're using. don't try to be poetic. write about things that you are passionate about. write about mundane, every-day things. write about things youv'e experienced. it's your best teacher.

Pick up to 10 deviants you look up to or are intimidated by and tell us a bit about why you like them/their work?
even though we're pretty close, i think i'll always look up to (and be intimidated by) miss diddlyhohum. i've been watching her since i had my first account on dA, 5 years ago, and she's honestly my biggest inspiration on here. everything she writes is godly, gah, just. yes.

i've also always rather liked consolecadet's writing, though i've never really spoken to him. there is just something about his style/voice/subject matter that is very unique.

i really enjoy stuff7's writing as well; his work is so honest and clear and easy to relate to.

glossolalias is a brilliant writer too, though admittedly i'm pretty intimidated by him - not sure why.

i've always loved silklilies and her writing; i've been watching her since my first account as well and just fell in love with her style of writing. she tells such incredible stories and has the most detailed/interesting imagery. she is such a sweetie too, though we haven't talked much for a long time now.

last but not least, KaitForest is a deviant that everyone should check out as well. she is without a doubt my closest friend and one of my biggest inspirations. she is such a sweetheart and an amazing writer.

If you could start up a project on dA (either lit-related or not) what would you call it and what would the goal be?
gah i have no idea. i am easily overwhelmed and not a very good leader, honestly.

Last question: If you could, for one day only, switch places with any animal, what animal would you choose and what would you do?
this is clearly the most important question of all of these.
hahaha. i would be some kind of bird - possibly a bluebird because it's connected to my dad's side of the family. i'd just want to see as much of the world as i can. flying. high places. mm yes
